About our Robot
Below you can see a picture of our robot. We used an eight-bar lift, which extends upwards and outwards. on the end is our pickup mechanism, designed specifically for picking up cubes. We have a direct-drive drive train, which uses four motors, one for each wheel.
Our autonomous scores five points: three by scoring a cube on the nearest post, and two by pushing cubes into the floor goal. it has a high success rate, and our autonomous wins the bonus ten points frequently. The autonomous is assisted by two ultrasonic sensors on the front and side of the robot, which scan for what side the robot is on and how far away the robot is from the post.
Our robot has won two Tournament Champion awards and a Think Award. The Think and the first Tournament champion was won at the Rockwall Heath High School tournament.. The other Tournament Champion award was won at the Flower Mound tournament.
We regularly own at least half the posts, and get a total score of around fifty to sixty points in driver skills. We also regularly pick alliances as third to fifth place.
